While her family was stationed at Vandenberg AFB in California, she attended Westmont College to pursue her B.A. in Liberal Studies for Education in addition to a minor in Spanish. After graduation, she enrolled at Chapman/Branum to receive her teaching credential. Once she received her credential, she was hired by the Lompoc Unified School District as an elementary teacher at a school serving students from the Air Force Base. During her time with Lompoc Unified, she taught grades 2-5, acted as Teacher in Charge and a Mentor Teacher, and served on several committees such as the school's leadership team and district's English Language Development Task Force. In the summer of 2021, Miss Perkins relocated to Missouri to be closer to her family. She was hired by Trinity that August and currently still teaches second grade. Besides her passion for education, Miss Perkins enjoys musical activities such as singing, dancing, and chiming. She also loves collecting Mickey items for her classroom.
