A Christian Perspective on Activities
Trinity Lutheran School is here to help train students for a life of service to God and man. As Christian students we are commanded by God himself to strive for excellence and competence in our area of participation. The ultimate goal of our striving must be to give glory to our God, who is the source of all of our talents. We strive for excellence in our endeavors so that God’s name might be praised.
The Christian student must also strive for excellence through adhering to rules of the activity. The student will exhibit the principles of a Christ-like witness.
Participation in activities at Trinity places a Christian into a special position. This position gives us a special opportunity to witness our faith through our actions and deeds, in our day to day living. The title “Christian” carries responsibility to Christ for everything we do, and duty to our role in life. We need to remind ourselves that our responsibility is not merely to avoid those things which we know will cause us problems, but to do all in our power to improve ourselves and help those around us.
Participation in activities offers us a great opportunity for individual growth through Christian fellowship. The development of group participation, the respect that we develop for each other as Christians (regardless of ability), the joy that we experience from participating helps each of us to mature into contributing members of the body of believers.
Our Activities
Athletics
Trinity is a founding member of the Parochial Athletic League (PAL). The other founding members are St. Joseph, St. Peter, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Schools. The other members may vary, but are generally other Catholic schools in the Jefferson City area.
We offer the following sports through PAL league:
Archery (4-8)
Basketball (5-8)
Cross County (4-8)
Track (5-8)
Volleyball (Girls) (5-8)
Music and Drama
The music education program at Trinity Lutheran School is a powerful practice within Trinity and the greater community, with a K-8 curriculum that focuses on developing applicable performance skills for lifelong musicianship and appreciation. Practices within this curriculum connect to themes and concepts used in the students’ classroom curriculum. The emphasis of the program is for all students to explore, use, and develop the gifts God has given them. These gifts can be in vocal music, instrumental music, speech or dramatic arts, composition, or skills in audio and visual technology.
